The phone, finally delegated

Every other errand has an app. Calling the insurer, sitting in a queue, picking up an unknown number: those still cost you. Not anymore.

Answers the calls you miss

An unknown number rings, you don't pick up, your assistant does. It finds out who it is and what they want, takes a message in their words, and texts you two lines the moment they hang up.

Makes the calls you'd rather not

Text it what you want and a number. It calls, says it's your assistant, gets exactly that and nothing else, and texts you the result.

Waits on hold for you

It calls, gets through the menu, sits in the queue, and rings you the moment a person answers.

Knows your people

Name the callers who always get straight through. Everyone else meets the assistant first.

Ring the number yourself and say it: "who called today?", "call the pharmacy and ask if my prescription's ready".

It never records a call, and it never pretends to be you

You get the words, not the audio. On every call it says it's your assistant, and it will not hand out where you live, your schedule, a card number or a password to anyone. Ask it whether it's a person and it tells the truth.

Pricing

$15 / month

One price, one person. The first week is free, and you cancel by texting STOP.

No card to start. When the week is up it texts you a link; pay and it carries on, or don't and it stops. Nothing else to cancel.

Questions

Does it record my calls?

No. There is no recording to switch off: it listens live and writes down what was said. You get a transcript and a two-line summary, never audio.

How does it get my missed calls?

Your carrier forwards them. You dial one code on your phone, once, and calls you don't answer go to the assistant. Another code turns it off. Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile all support it; the assistant texts you the code for yours.

Will my mum end up talking to a robot?

Not if you don't want her to. Add her to your list and she is put straight through; if you still don't pick up, the assistant takes a message and texts it to you. Everyone else meets the assistant first.

Does it pretend to be me on calls?

Never. It says it's your assistant, and if anyone asks whether it's a person it says it's an AI. It can give your first name and a callback number, and nothing else about you.

What can't it do?

Pay for things, read out your card, or agree to anything you didn't ask for. If a call needs something it doesn't have, it takes the details and tells you. It also cannot press keypad digits on a phone menu, so it asks for a person out loud instead.

How do I stop?

Text STOP. It goes quiet at once and stops billing at the end of the month. Text START and it's back.
